NFL Commissioner Goodell hints at further locations in Germany

The hype surrounding NFL games in Germany shows no sign of abating. During a round of interviews, Roger Goodell hints that further locations could be considered

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins kick off one of two NFL games in Germany.

One week later, the Indianapolis Colts meet the New England Patrios, also in Frankfurt.

The fact that the NFL has a very active fan scene in Germany has been known since the Munich game last year at the latest. One game will be played on German soil in each of the next two seasons.

In a round of interviews, NFL boss Roger Goodell has now hinted that other locations besides Munich and Frankfurt could be considered. The NFL is also aiming for cooperation beyond 2025

“Dusseldorf and Berlin have expressed a lot of interest and are definitely options,” Goodell said and continued: “The German fans are an important part of our history and have played a big part in the growth of our league. We plan to continue to work together in the future.”

Meanwhile, according to Goodell, a European-based NFL team is currently out of the question.
