Strong show of will from Andrew Vorhees. Despite tearing his ACL, the offensive lineman doesn’t miss the bench press at the NFL Combine and performs at the highest level
This news must have come as a huge shock to Andrew Vorhees. The USC offensive lineman severely injured his knee during drills at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Doctors later confirmed the diagnosis: Vorhees suffered a torn cruciate ligament and will probably be out for the entire 2023 season.
Nevertheless, the 24-year-old showed up at the Combine the day after his injury and completed the bench press: The O-lineman hobbled to the bench on crutches. Afterwards, the former Trojan, despite having only one stable knee, pressed the 100 kilograms a whopping 38 times. A mega performance from Vorhees, as no other player in his position group managed so many repetitions.
True example of when adversity hits how a Trojan will respond:), proud of you big man ✌ keep chasing your dreams pic.twitter.com/B0166uzDyi

With the USC Trojans, Vorhees was one of the key players. Last season, he was able to claim the “Morris Trophy”, which recognizes the best offensive lineman and the best defensive lineman in the Pacific-12 Conference. “CBS Sports” ranked Vorhees as the fourth-best offensive lineman prior to the Combine.
