NFL Combine 2022: Jordan Davis – Mega Machine Shines in Drills

The NFL Combine 2022 has another shooting star. Jordan Davis weighs in at 155 pounds as a defensive tackle, but shined so consistently in workouts that he’s now being traded as a top-10 pick in the draft.

Munich – Jordan Davis is heavy. And fast as hell.

The defensive tackle proved that on Saturday night at the Combine in Indianapolis. Davis weighs just under 155 kilograms, but ran the 40-yard dash in a lightning-fast 4.78 seconds.

That’s not only a top time, but the fastest time recorded at the Combine for a player of his weight. With this, he also leaves Dontari Poe behind. The two-time Pro Bowler completed the sprint in 4.89 seconds in 2012 at just under 157 kilograms of body weight.

Second best “RAS” score

That wasn’t all, though, as Davis put in a convincing workout, excelling in the other exercises as well. He cleared a similarly impressive 81 centimetres in the vertical jump and 3.12 metres in the standing long jump. Draft analyst Kevin Lee Platte said Davis’ Relative Athletic Score was the second best ever. The best value was achieved by Lions legend Calvin Johnson.

The “RAS” measures the athleticism of a player in relation to his body measurements.

The 22-year-old is being hailed by college champion Georgia Bulldogs in the media, and by many stars as well.

Experts are already speculating that the workout could shoot Davis into the top ten at the draft. He proved that even top talent can add lasting value to their draft value.

Davis won the “Chuck Bednarik Award” as the best defensive player in college football last year, and the “Outland Trophy” as the best lineman also went to him. He was considered a potential first-round pick before the Combine.
