It has been more than eight years since Colin Kaepernick played his last NFL game. However, the 37-year-old has not given up on his dream of a comeback.
And every year it’s the same old story: Colin Kaepernick is still dreaming of a comeback in the NFL. Now 37, he is continuing to keep himself fit for the challenge.
Kaepernick trains “all day, every day,” his girlfriend Nessa Diab told TMZ Sports, emphasizing that the quarterback still wants to play in the NFL.
“Nothing has changed,” Diab said, adding that ‘it’s entirely up to the teams whether they let him play.’
However, since they haven’t let him play for years, a comeback is likely to remain just a dream.
Colin Kaepernick: Last NFL game on January 1, 2017
Kaepernick’s NFL career ended when he began taking a knee against racism, injustice, and police violence.
His protest during the US national anthem caused a stir in 2016, sparking debate and also preventing the quarterback from finding a new employer after his contract with the San Francisco 49ers expired.
On January 1, 2017, he played his last game in the NFL.
A lot has happened since then, but a comeback has not materialized. Kaepernick was initially canceled by the NFL and the teams as a political issue, before nevertheless recommending himself for a comeback in various ways in recent years.
He organized several private workouts and participated in multiple team training sessions. However, he has not yet signed a new contract.
