NFL Championship Games could see changes: Neutral venue and two different days under discussion

The NFL is already thinking about the future during the current postseason.

These could particularly affect the future championship games of the AFC and the NFC

As “ProFootballTalk” reports, the two finals in the respective conference could be played on neutral ground in the future. The home advantage for the team with the best record in each case would then no longer apply to this game. The proposal was not well received by fans and allegedly also by at least one owner.

Championship Games on two days in future?

Another idea is not to play the two games one after the other on one day as has been the case so far. In future, one match could be played on Sunday, the second only on Monday, according to the thinking.

This would allow the NFL to be and remain present on several days. So far, the day after the games have been dominated by one of the two games in particular, with the other taking a bit of a back seat.

From a sporting perspective, such a change should at least not affect any of the winning teams. With two weeks off before the Super Bowl, the team will also have plenty of time to rehabilitate with the Championship Game scheduled later.

According to an unnamed source with the best information from the league, Sunday’s game could be played at 4 p.m. Eastern time (10 p.m. German time), and Monday’s would be the typical time for the Monday Night Game – about 8:15 p.m. local time, which is 2:15 a.m. German time.
