December 9 will be an entertaining football feast! Not only because the Dallas Cowboys will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals, but also because the game will be broadcast in a very special way.
The world’s most popular animated TV series is conquering the NFL.
“The Simpsons” are known for anticipating major events in their series, and now the series is taking the next step: an NFL TV broadcast!
The “Monday Night Football” game will be played on December 9 between the Dallas Cowboys and the Cincinnati Bengals. As Disney wants to reach more young viewers, the game will be shown not only on ESPN but also as a special in an animated “Simpsons” version on ESPN+, Disney+ and NFL+.
NFL x Simpsons animation in real time: technology makes it possible
In the “Simpsons” version, Homer Simpson plays for the Cowboys, while his son Bart plays for the Bengals. Lisa and Marge interview the players on the sidelines and at halftime. Baby Maggie operates the Skycam.

As unrealistic as it feels to write or read this, that’s how it will happen. Thanks to tracking technology, the players in the cartoon version will mimic every move the real players make in real time.
Nice bonus: instead of the real world in AT&T Stadium in Dallas, the game will be played in the Springfield Atmos Stadium. The “Simpsons” game will be broadcast in 145 countries.
Similar to last season, when a game was held in the style of “Toy Story”.
