NFL: After surgery – Tom Brady’s knee feels “really good” for the first time

Last year, Tom Brady underwent long-overdue knee surgery. Now, for the first time, the quarterback is feeling “really good” and enjoying light-hearted workouts.

Munich – It was a year ago that quarterback Tom Brady was struggling with some discomfort due to a knee injury. After surgery, his recovery, the 2021 season, his retirement and his comeback, “TB12” finally feels refreshed and fit.

“Last year was pretty tough because I had my medial ligament reconstruction. I already got the injury in my last season in New England and went into the offseason with a torn inner ligament,” he explained in an interview with the “Tampa Bay Times”.

He added: “I didn’t have surgery because I thought it would heal. So I didn’t do anything. The next year, I taped my knee every day. Then last year, I did have the surgery, and now, this offseason, it feels really good for the first time.”

Before the new NFL season, the 44-year-old still has a very special highlight on the agenda. On June 1, he will compete in the charity golf event “The Match” together with Aaron Rodgers against Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.

Brady fit as a fiddle

Brady enjoys his good physical condition all the more in the process. “It’s just fun to run around a little bit. We are currently doing some sprints. I know Aaron has probably run for more yards in a game than I have in my entire career. But for me, it’s just interesting to work with very specific training methods.”

The seven-time Super Bowl winner adds, “For example, a one-legged jump. I haven’t done a one-legged jump in many years. My knee has just always wobbled around. This year it was good to do it.”

An even fitter Tom Brady – certainly bad news for many opponents in the NFL.
