NFL – Abdul Carter also received a fake call during the draft: “We knew it was nonsense.”

Shedeur Sanders wasn’t the only victim of a prank call during the NFL Draft. Abdul Carter was also targeted, but the player and his agent quickly saw through it.

The prank call against Shedeur Sanders during the NFL Draft caused quite a stir, and the Atlanta Falcons and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, father of the fake caller Jax Ulbrich, have since been fined.

But Sanders was apparently not the only victim of a prank call.

Abdul Carter, who was picked third by the New York Giants, also received a fake call beforehand, as his agent Drew Rosenhaus explained.

According to Rosenhaus, the call came in before the Jacksonville Jaguars selected their number two pick. The Jaguars had previously traded with the Cleveland Browns and jumped to the second position.

Carter to the Jaguars? Caller makes a joke

The caller claimed to be with the Jaguars and told Carter that Jacksonville would pick him. But Carter and Rosenhaus saw right through the charade.

“Abdul and I knew it was nonsense and didn’t even tell his family about the call,” said the agent, who finds it regrettable that private numbers are given to people so they can play pranks.

Just moments after the fake call, Carter received the real call from the Giants, who ultimately selected the pass rusher. The Jaguars had previously opted for Travis Hunter.
