Ex-NFL player Michael Oher has again made serious allegations against the Tuohy family. They allegedly concealed many things from him regarding the financial realities of the guardianship.

On Monday, former NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher filed a motion accusing Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy of keeping him “in the dark” regarding the financial realities of the guardianship.

According to the paper, the Tuohy family allegedly “blatantly disregarded their legal and fiduciary duties to (Oher) for over 19 years”. Oher accuses the couple of unjustly enriching themselves financially during the period of guardianship.

Michael Oher: Tuohys appointed conservator

Problematic is that the Tuohys have publicly claimed to be adoptive parents. The Tuohys say they received US$500,000 as a result of the film, which they would have split evenly between themselves, the two children and Oher.

“They were appointed conservator of the person. There was no estate to account for,” their lawyer Randy Fishman said earlier this month, “[Oher] handled all his own finances.”

He added: “He made his own contracts. Hired his own agents. The Tuohys never had to sign off on anything. He did it all himself.”

Oher’s applications portray the Tuohys as opportunists who took advantage of his naivety and desire to be included in their family unit to reap financial rewards at his expense.
