Quarterback legend Tom Brady is facing an investment in the Las Vegas Raiders, according to media reports in the US. According to ESPN and NFL Network, the seven-time Super Bowl champion is to join the franchise from the US state of Nevada, but as a “silent partner” – Brady is not to interfere in football matters.
NFL team owners are expected to decide on the 45-year-old’s offer at their meeting this month in Minnesota. As ESPN reports, the deal would not affect Brady’s ten-year contract as a TV pundit at Fox, for which he collects $375 million.
The Las Vegas Raiders are owned by Mark Davis, an old acquaintance of Brady’s: the entrepreneur who brought the team from Oakland to the gambling city also owns the Las Vegas Aces, champions in the WNBA women’s basketball league, where Brady is also a minority owner.
Brady ended his career last year after 23 seasons in the NFL, triumphing in the Super Bowl six times with the New England Patriots and once with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Three times Brady was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
