Washington – Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is interested in buying the Washington Commanders from the US professional football league NFL, according to media reports. According to the report, rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z could join as another investor.
The Washington Post, which Bezos owns, and People magazine report on the financially strong duo’s interest. The current owners of Commanders, Dan and Tanya Snyder, had announced on Wednesday that a firm had been hired to handle the sale of the franchise.
In August, Forbes magazine had valued Commanders at $5.6 billion. Snyder is under investigation for financial irregularities by the NFL and the US House of Representatives, among others.
