Josh Allen was plagued with an elbow injury at the end of this season, which affected him in some actions. Now, however, there is apparently good news for the Buffalo Bills quarterback.
Even after five NFL years, Josh Allen is still waiting for his first Super Bowl appearance.
This time it was the Divisional Round that was the end of the line for his Buffalo Bills. There, the Cincinnati Bengals were more than just a tick better at 10:27.
It is pointless to discuss how the franchise from Orchard Park would have fared in the playoffs if Allen had not had to play with an elbow injury.
The 26-year-old had already suffered a hamstring injury in Week 9’s 17-20 loss to the New York Jets, which subsequently hampered him.
Allen and the elbow: Injury likely to heal without surgery
Now, at least, there is positive news on Allen’s elbow, in which ligaments, tendons and muscles were affected.
According to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, doctors expect the playmaker to have fully recovered from the injury by the start of the 2023 season. Accordingly, surgery will not be necessary.
Allen: Ligament strain worse in rookie season
According to the report, Allen’s injury is not as bad as his ligament strain that cost him four games in his rookie season.
Nevertheless, the bandage and the wound limited his movements, so he couldn’t make some throws as usual.
Basically, the injury was more serious than previously known. Even though Allen did not miss a game. A complete recovery is now important in order to be able to compete again with full strength in 2023.
