After Jon Gruden’s lawsuit against the NFL, it is now known that 25 May will be a decisive date for the case. That’s when it’s expected to be decided how to proceed.
Munich – What happens with Jon Gruden’s lawsuit against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell?
There is to be a hearing on 25 May to determine whether the lawsuit will be decided in court or whether the case will be settled in “secret” between Gruden and the NFL. This is reported by “ESPN”.
Gruden had resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders in early October 2021 after corrupt emails of his came to light.
Who leaked the emails?
To date, it is unclear who leaked the messages. The aim of the lawsuit is not to clarify whether Gruden should have been fired for his racist, homophobic and misogynistic emails, but rather who circulated them.
If there were to be an out-of-court settlement, however, this issue would probably never be resolved.
The 58-year-old accuses Goodell of leaking the emails to force him to resign. The league and Goodell deny these allegations so far.
