The topic of head injuries in the NFL has been back on the agenda at least since Tua Tagovailoa. Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow now expressed his own opinion on the subject in a podcast – and made a surprising confession.
Munich – The images of Tua Tagovailoa have been on the minds of the Miami Dolphins and the entire NFL lately. The discussion about head injuries among the players boiled up again – one doctor even advised the Dolphins’ quarterback to end his career.
For Joe Burrow, however, such injuries are simply part of the game, as he recently revealed in.
“You’re going to have head injuries. You’re going to tear your ACL. You’re going to break your arm. That’s part of the game we play. That’s the life we lead – and we get paid handsomely for it,” the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback explained on “The Colin Cowherd Podcast.”
Burrow: “Can’t remember some games “
Burrow also addressed his own experiences with head injuries, revealing the frightening: “I’ve had some [games] where I couldn’t remember a half or even the whole game. I know I felt dizzy at some moments. “
However, the 25-year-old claimed to have suffered no long-term damage.
However, he did not reveal whether the Bengals quarterback reported those injuries during or after the games.
In some ways, Burrow’s comments may even underscore a futile attempt to stem the tide of concussions. However, in the physical sport, head injuries will probably never be completely ruled out.
In any case, the injury story surrounding the Dolphins quarterback has already ensured that the Concussion Protocol will be tightened up once again. As a further consequence, according to a report, a medical advisor was even dismissed in this case, who is said to have made “several mistakes”.
