Reports indicate Jalen Carter will only meet with teams with one of the first ten draft picks before the draft. The defensive tackle had been making headlines over the last few months.
Jalen Carter doesn’t seem to lack confidence.
Although the defensive tackle had repeatedly made negative headlines recently, he is likely to meet only with teams that own one of the first ten picks before the draft.
According to media reports, the defensive talent is turning down enquiries from clubs with the right to select him later. Carter’s adviser, Drew Rosenhaus, is said to be convinced his client will be drafted in the top 10.
Meeting with Bears and Eagles
A meeting with the Chicago Bears is on the horizon, while the Philadelphia Eagles have already met with the defender.
Carter was originally considered a candidate for one of the first three picks after dominating the college championship the previous two years with the Georgia Bulldogs.
However, he has been in the spotlight repeatedly of late for negative reasons, which may have severely damaged his draft value. The defensive tackle had been fined and sentenced to community service in mid-March after a court deemed his involvement in a fatal car accident.
Bad impression at Pro Day
Following his Pro Day at the University of Georgia, there were also reports that Carter had put on several pounds and made a bad impression in the workouts.
