Professional football player Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills has left the hospital in Cincinnati just one week after his cardiac arrest.

Professional football player Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills has left the hospital in Cincinnati just a week after suffering cardiac arrest in an NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The 24-year-old was flown to Buffalo where he will receive further treatment at another hospital. “We are excited and proud to announce that Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital and has returned to Buffalo,” UC Medical Center in Cincinnati announced Monday.

Hamlin had suffered cardiac arrest after a collision with an opponent and had to be resuscitated. “He is doing well and this is the next stage of his recovery,” the hospital announced.

On Sunday, Hamlin had watched from the hospital as his team secured second place in the AFC with a win over the New England Patriots, 35-23. “GameDay … There’s nothing I want more than to walk out of this tunnel with my brothers,” he wrote on Twitter.
