The fire brigade had to go to Mile High on Thursday. A fire had broken out at the Denver Broncos stadium, and black smoke could be seen for miles.
Munich – Shock for the Denver Broncos: A fire broke out at their home Mile High Stadium on Thursday. Black smoke could be seen as far away as downtown.
Fire apparently started at stadium construction site
A report from “ESPN” and the “Associated Press” indicates that the fire service received the alarm at 2:15 p.m. local time. Around 75 firefighters were on the scene and the fire was under control half an hour later. The sprinkler systems had already done good preliminary work, they said.
The fire had initially raged on the suites floor, presumably it had broken out on a construction site in the stadium, spreading to more than 90 square metres. Photos show flames on a grandstand.
The reason for the outbreak was not known at first. There was also no information about casualties at first.

Seat material produced “enormous amount of black smoke “
A spokesman for the fire service said, “The plastic that the seats are made of not only burns very violently, but also produces an enormous amount of black smoke.”
The incident also affected traffic on the nearby motorway. Many drivers would have slowed down to watch the fire.
