Cardinals receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was arrested by police for speeding. So far the 25-year-old has not been released.
Munich – Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was arrested by police on Wednesday morning American time.
The 25-year-old had been stopped by police for speeding on Arizona State Route 101 and taken to the Maricopa County jail.
According to the inmate roster, Brown was arrested for speeding 85 mph (about 137 km/h). His offence could be punishable by up to 30 days in jail, a fine of up to $500 and/or up to one year probation.
The Cardinals ruled so far only in a brief statement, “We are aware of the situation regarding Hollywood Brown and have reported it to the NFL office as required. We will comment further in due course. “
Brown was traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the Arizona Cardinals on draft day and was expected to replace DeAndre Hopkins, who was suspended at the start of the season. He totaled 1,008 receiving yards and six touchdowns last season.
