Marshawn Lynch was feared for his dealings with members of the media during his career in the NFL. Contrary to expectations, he is now apparently set to become a reporter and analyst after his career ends.
Munich/Seattle – Never say too much. Or never say anything about certain professions until you work for them yourself.
That probably applies best to former star running back Marshawn Lynch. For as the “New York Post” reports, “Beastmode” has been targeted by “Amazon Prime Video” to serve as a reporter and analyst around its Thursday Night Football coverage.
The very Lynch who, during Media Day for Super Bowl XLIX, famously answered every question from reporters with the words “I’m just here not to be punished” and was notorious throughout his career for his distaste for members of the media.
Marshawn Lynch: From football field to pundit role?
According to the report, the 35-year-old will become part of a “more relaxed” studio show.
The five-time Pro Bowler originally retired in February 2016, but decided to make a comeback in 2017 after a trade of his contract rights from the Seattle Seahawks to the then-Oakland Raiders.
After two seasons with the Raiders, the five-time Pro Bowler then hung up his boots again, but returned from retirement after less than a year, re-signing with the Seahawks in December 2019.
Lynch was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 12th pick in the 2007 draft. In 12 seasons in the NFL, “Beastmode” scored 10,413 rushing yards and 85 touchdowns in 149 games on 2,453 runs. His greatest success in the NFL is winning Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks.
