Patrick Esume, NFL pundit and commissioner of the European League of Football (ELF), has the Las Vegas Raiders on his mind amid speculation about a possible new club for star quarterback Tom Brady. “Now that Derek Carr is gone, it would be huge for the city of Las Vegas to get the GOAT there.”
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, had last left his future open after a play-off exit with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – his contract is up. The previous Raiders quarterback Carr has already said goodbye to the fans, although he is still tied to the club. There is a need at the key position.
For Esume, an important factor could be that Brady and the Raiders head coach know each other well. “Josh McDaniels is his former offensive coordinator, they have a history together, won Super Bowls together, even though they yelled at each other every now and then,” the 48-year-old said: “They know each other and they know what they have in each other.” McDaniels and Brady were prolific during their time together with the New England Patriots.
A move to the players’ metropolis would also be “interesting for Brady (45). He is very busy, even with everything he does on the side. He can make more contacts, discover another part of the country,” says Esume, “and he’s closer to his home in San Francisco.
