Andy Dalton said goodbye to the Cincinnati Bengals after his release. The quarterback posted an emotional video on Instagram with a special message.
After nine years, Andy Dalton was fired from the Cincinnati Bengals. After all, the three-time Pro Bowler, who holds the franchise records for passing yards and touchdowns in a single season, quickly found a new club in the Dallas Cowboys.
This also means that the chapter of Bengal must quickly close and leave “Red Rifle” behind. So he took the chance to say thank you with an emotional post. To the club. To the city. To the fans.
“Countless memories that I will never forget.”
“Thank you, Cincinnati,” Dalton begins his Instagram message: “Thank you for the past nine years. There are countless memories that I will never forget. I’m grateful for the friendships, my teammates, coaches and the whole organization.”
“You guys have made me feel better every day.” Dalton also thanks his foundation for its support and explicitly mentions his wife Jordan, who “always supported him and was by my side every step of the way. I am blessed that we are making this journey together.”
Message ends with a fan cry “Who dey!”
The quarterback concludes, “We will always treasure the time in Cincinnati.” The message ends with a fan’s “Who dey!” This is coined by Bengals fans when asked, “Who dey think gonna beat the Bengals?” So: Who do you think’s gonna beat the Bengals?
In a three minute clip Dalton reviews the time in Cincinnati. From the draft to his charity work and his sporting exploits to his farewell. Of course, there are also several touchdown passes to be seen.
After all, he helped the Bengals make the playoffs in their first five years in the NFL. Only one victory in the postseason was denied him. The last one was 29 years ago for the franchise.
