Draft 2023: The race between Will Anderson and Tyree Wilson

The edge class in this year’s draft has two absolute top prospects in Will Anderson and Tyree Wilson. Both players are expected to go early in the first round by some experts, but who will make the cut?

For quite some time, there were indications that Anderson would come out on top and be drafted first out of the two. Now “NBC” is reporting that the trend is probably more toward Wilson.

Wilson the better NFL player than Anderson?

According to a report, a head coach of an NFL team with a pick in the top-10 reportedly said Wilson will be a better pro than Anderson. Also “NBC” pundit Peter King, on whom this report is based, does not exclude that this case could happen.

Fact is: Every team can use a good edge rusher. Especially the teams with the early picks, like the Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals.

Hutchinson and Walker 2.0?

For that very reason, many things seem possible with Anderson and Wilson. Not impossible that there will still be big shifts during the draft.

Also last year, two defensive ends were riding high in Aidan Hutchinson and Travon Walker. After many thought Hutchinson was drafted ahead of Walker, it turned out to be the other way around.

The Jacksonville Jaguars picked Walker first – then Hutchinson went off the board with the second pick by the Detroit Lions.
