Wide receiver Davante Adams talked about his skills at the line of scrimmage in an interview with the “Pivot Podcast” – and made a crazy comparison.
Munich – Davante Adams is one of the best receivers in the NFL and will lace up the shoes for the Las Vegas Raiders next season. The 29-year-old particularly excels with excellent releases and strong route running. In an interview with the “Pivot Podcast” he now revealed the secret of his success.
“I have a plan every time before the snap based on how the cornerback is doing. Like the Terminator, I put on my mask and then in my mind’s eye I have three responses to the way the cornerback wants to defend me,” the five-time Pro Bowler said.
Once cornerbacks change their approach, Adams again finds three answers to make the new situation work for him.
Carr and Adams: Old pals
“The cornerbacks can do their drills in practice, but it’s different when number 17 (Davante Adams) is running at them at top speed,” Adams said confidently.
With the Las Vegas Raiders, the receiver, who posted over 1,500 receiving yards last year, will catch passes from college teammate Derek Carr.
“My savvy technique started at Fresno State University. Derek (Carr) just had to look in my direction before the snap and I knew what to do. (…) But I didn’t come here just to hang out with Derek. We want to win the trophy at the end of the year. “
