Damar Hamlin confirms “I plan to return to the NFL”.

Damar Hamlin has been given the medical okay to return to football. At a press conference, the safety spoke about the incident and his plans.

Damar Hamlin is cleared to return to football and plans to do so. What the general manager of the Buffalo Bills, Brandon Beane, had announced earlier, the safety confirmed shortly after with emotional words.

At a press conference, he said, “This incident changed my life, but it didn’t end my story. That’s why I’m here today to announce that I plan to return to the NFL.”

The Bills also announced on their Twitter account that the safety was with the team and participating in the team’s workouts.

The then-24-year-old had collapsed in cardiac arrest in a Jan. 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals after bringing down Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

Hamlin speculated early on comeback

Hamlin required multiple resuscitations on the scene and could not be released until he spent several days in intensive care.

The defensive back had already spoken optimistically about a possible return on the sidelines of the Super Bowl.

Last season, he had played 13 games from the start.

In his second year in the NFL, he had also managed 91 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
