Cam Newton takes responsibility: Apology after brawl

After his recent brawl during a youth football tournament, former MVP Cam Newton takes responsibility and apologizes

Former MVP Cam Newton recently made negative headlines during a youth football tournament in Atlanta.

The 34-year-old got into a brawl with four opponents, who he was at least able to keep at bay until the police arrived.

Newton has now spoken out about the incident at the football tournament, which he was actually attending in his role as patron, and apologized.

“I apologize to everyone involved. This is Steph, this is TJ, this is her organization, this is C1N – my organization – my players, my parents, my staff,” Newton said on the “4th&1” podcast. “There’s no excuse, there really isn’t,” Newton said. “There could have been a scuffle, there could have been more violence, and that’s just not appropriate. “

Newton’s foundation “C1N”, which the former Carolina Panthers star founded in 2011, organizes football tournaments across the country.

After his misconduct, he also made an appeal to the public. “To every single high school player, to every single person I’ve impacted, to every single athlete: Use my situation to understand that your life can change in one moment, in one decision, just like that,” the former NFL star said.

December 26, 2021 was Newton’s last time on the field in the NFL to date.
