Wide receiver Calvin Ridley is suspended by the NFL for the entire 2022 season following a betting scandal. Now, the athlete, who has since been traded to the Jaguars, wants to return to the league
Calvin Ridley is wasting no time. After being suspended for the entire 2022 NFL season due to a betting scandal, the wide receiver has applied for reinstatement to the league, according to consistent media reports.
Wednesday was the first day Ridley could submit an application. This will now be reviewed by Roger Goodell. That’s how the commissioner of the world’s best football league decides whether the former first-round pick will be allowed to return to the field.
The pass receiver was suspended for last season for admitting to making $1,500 bets on NFL action during the 2021 season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.
Ridley wants to return to the NFL
This had occurred when the 28-year-old was unable to practice with the team due to mental health issues. In the meantime, he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who acquired him for multiple draft picks
Ridley had his best season in 2020 when he caught 90 passes for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns for the Falcons.
