“Baby Gronk” is ten years old and apparently wants to make it into the NFL at all costs. He’s already a star in the US, but he’s also hailing criticism – including from J.J. Watt.
“Gronk’s” time in the NFL ended two years ago. In just over a decade, “Baby Gronk” will apparently be rocking the league. However, he has nothing to do with fan favourite Rob Gronkowski, so far only the nickname connects the two.
Baby Gronk” is a ten-year-old who is currently making the headlines in the USA, at least in football. He is omnipresent on social media, and many well-known media outlets – from the New York Times and The Athletic to the celebrity portal TMZ – are devoted to the celebrated football sensation. The talent has even given interviews and is said to have been invited by numerous colleges.
The father, who probably didn’t give his boy the name Madden by chance, is always present. And so the young footballer, whose whole life seems to revolve around the egg-shaped leather, is not only hyped. He’s also getting a lot of criticism, especially from his dad Jake San Miguel.
“Baby Gronk”: J.J. Watt voices criticism on Twitter
For example, he revealed to “The Athletic” that his son’s week included five to six days of training, the diet focused on “clean foods” like salmon and brown rice, his son wasn’t a normal kid but “a real athlete. “
Too much for J.J. Watt, who was asked his opinion by another Twitter user. The longtime NFL star, a father himself since last fall, tweeted in response, “I’ve always said kids should be allowed to play multiple sports and be kids. I’m not against advanced leagues, better competition and so on. But no kid should play one sport all year and no kid should ‘train like a pro’, at least not until high school. These are kids.”
There is a lot of agreement under the tweet. Some users describe their own experiences, including with poor choices in sports parenting.
“Baby Gronk”: father and Compton engage in private feud
Even one step further than Watt is another ex-NFL pro, Will Compton. “The Boy” – the fitting nickname of the linebacker who maintains a podcast with former teammate Taylor Lewan – has been engaged in a private feud with the father of “Baby Gronk” via social media for some time.
While San Miguel made it public that he had requested an interview with Lewan, which is to take place without Compton, the latter sent a video message in which he called on the 36-year-old in no uncertain terms to stop the “madness”. His assumption: The father only wants to become famous and rich through his son because he himself has not succeeded.
Compton also emphasises that the whole procedure was planned before “Baby Gronk” came into the world. Finally, he warns, “This has to be stopped because it’s not going to end well. “

“Baby Gronk” and the NFL Dream
Clear words from the NFL environment, but apparently not really taken seriously yet. A new video on the Twitter account of “Baby Gronk” shows the boy jumping into a pool equipped with a swimming noodle. The text reads in capital letters: “Baby Gronk is trying to become the next great Olympic swimmer. While trending on Twitter for five days.”
This is probably a sign to the critics that the boy is having fun and trying out other sports.
Meanwhile, an older video shows “Baby Gronk” in a suit and tie. Here, the 2035 draft was played and he goes – as a first-overall pick, of course – to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
