Antonio Brown joins his father’s former team as co-owner

Antonio Brown seems to have fallen out with the NFL because of various escapades. But now “AB” is back as a co-owner in another league

Antonio Brown is not done with American football, but the “enfant terrible” of the NFL is now not only changing leagues, but also sides. As first reported by “WNYT NewsChannel 13”, the former star receiver will become co-owner of the Albany Empire from the National Arena League (NAL).

The franchise welcomed “AB” as part of a four-man roster, including his father “Touchdown” Eddie Brown. The 34-year-old presented himself in a sensational coat.

Earlier, “AB” posted a video on Twitter showing him on a balcony in front of a river. According to him, it was in Albany in the US state of New York. In it, Brown spoke of a “big announcement” that was coming.

The seven-time Pro Bowler also tweeted a child’s photo of himself with the mascot of the former Albany and Indiana Firebirds – the team for which his father played as an offensive specialist from 1994 to 2003 and where he became a star.

“Albany has always been a special place for me and my family,” Brown Jr. wrote in response. He also retweeted the post by free NFL reporter “MLFootball” in which it reported on the 2020 Super Bowl winner’s commitment to Empire. The team only returned for the 2020 season and directly won the Championship twice.

According to the report, “AB” is not expected to suit up himself, but will focus on his duties as part of an investment group. His father, according to the “WNYT” report, acts as Vice President of Football Operations and will be responsible for the day-to-day business of Empire.

“Touchdown” Brown was MVP once in the then Arena Football League (AFL), Offensive Player of the Year twice and made First Team All-Arena three times. In 2012, he finished second in the voting of the 25 best players in league history – behind short-season NFL pro Barry Wagner.
