Like many other former NFL players, Drew Brees will apparently move to the TV studio after his active time. His next employer has already been determined.
Drew Brees apparently already has a clear idea of what his career path will be after his NFL career. According to a report in the “New York Post” the current quarterback of the New Orleans Saints will then be seen as an expert on US television. According to this report he would have already given his consent to the “NBC” channel.
According to information from the “New York Post”, Brees is to inherit commentator legend Chris Collinsworth there in the long term. The former NFL professional is mainly used as a commentator for the “Sunday Night Football” broadcasts on “NBC”.
Drew Brees: “ESPN” was probably also interested
Prior to that, Brees will be used as an analyst for college football and pre-game shows of NFL games. “NBC” declined to comment on the report. A spokesperson for the TV station simply stated when asked: “Like all NFL fans, we look forward to watching Drew Brees continue his Hall-of-Fame career. We believe that his career path will be just as successful after he’s finished playing.”
Exactly when Brees might go into the TV studio is still an open question. The 41-year-old signed a new two-year contract this off-season that could earn him up to $50 million by the end of the 2021 season. He has not yet announced whether he wants to end his career after that.
Also “ESPN” is said to have been interested in Bree’s services. According to the “New York Post”, however, the Super Bowl winner’s salary expectations are said to have put off the station.
