In the game between Saints and Buccaneers there is a juicy brawl in week two. Now the NFL is punishing two more players involved in the altercation
Munich – A brawl broke out last game day during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 20-10 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Bucs receiver Mike Evans has already been suspended for one game and is thus out of tonight’s home game against the Green Bay Packers.
Now the best football league in the world has called more of those involved to account, albeit in a much more moderate fashion. Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore and Bucs running back Leonard Fournette each have to pay a fine of 13,367 US dollars. The reason: Unnecessary hardship.
Evans suspended by NFL
Originally, the altercation had started with a verbal exchange between Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Lattimore. Evans then jumped to his playmaker’s side and took Lattimore off his feet with a boisterous body check. A scuffle then developed which was joined by several players from both teams.
Evans and Lattimore were sent off, but only the former was suspended.
Incidentally, former Tampa head coach Bruce Arians was also warned by the NFL. As a team official, he allegedly helped instigate the brawl.
