Adrian Peterson does not face charges after allegations over an argument with his wife in February. At a pre-trial hearing, he reportedly agreed to attend sessions for alcohol counselling and domestic violence.
Munich – Adrian Peterson does not have to go to prison.
According to media reports, the 37-year-old will even avoid charges. In exchange, he is said to have agreed at a pre-trial hearing to attend a total of 20 sessions on domestic violence and alcohol counselling over the next six months.
In February, the running back legend had been arrested for domestic violence after a heated argument with his wife Ashley on a plane. The plane, which had just left the gate, immediately turned around so Peterson could be removed.
Afterwards, however, his wife defended him on “Instagram”, writing in a post that it had been private matters between her and her husband and that at no point did he hit her.
Adrian Peterson: He hardly plays a role in sports anymore
Peterson is considered a repeat offender. In 2014, the NFL suspended him for the rest of the season after he was charged with negligent abuse of a child. In 2018, he admitted in an interview to hitting his children.
Athletically, the longtime Minnesota Vikings star doesn’t consider himself finished yet. “I can’t end my career like this. That’s why I’m going into the offseason with the mindset that I’m going to keep playing. I still love the game,” he said shortly after last season ended. He experienced that on the Injured-Reserved list of the Seattle Seahakws, for whom he played only one game.
Currently fifth among players with the most rushing yards in NFL history free agent.
