Aaron Rodgers is apparently on the verge of a comeback, he should get the green light from the doctors on Christmas Eve. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that he will play
Is there a special Christmas present for the fans of the New York Jets?
According to TMZ Sports, Aaron Rodgers is on the verge of a comeback. According to the report, the quarterback superstar is expected to get the green light from doctors for the Jets’ home game against the Washington Commanders. He could then play.
In theory at least.
The “go” alone would be a minor medical sensation after his Achilles tendon rupture in mid-September in the first game of the season against the Buffalo Bills.
Normally the healing process takes six to nine months after such an injury, but in Rodgers’ case it would be less than three and a half months between injury and return on Christmas Eve. Which is due to the Speedbridge technique he was treated with.
New York Jets: Hardly any playoff chances left
What you have to say: If Rodgers gets medical clearance, that doesn’t automatically mean he’ll play. In addition to his health, he had also mentioned the sporting situation as a condition for a comeback on the pitch.
In other words, the Jets still have to play for the playoffs against the Commanders. Despite their win against the Houston Texans on Sunday, their chances of making the postseason are less than one percent with a 5:8 record.
Even a 9-8 finish to the season would not guarantee a playoff ticket. If the Jets no longer have a chance, it seems impossible that the franchise and players would take the risk of another injury. With the math intact, however, things could look different.
