Since the controversy surrounding his views on the Corona vaccine, Aaron Rodgers has spoken out repeatedly about natural healing methods. Now, in a podcast, he explained that ayahuasca helped him improve his mental health
Munich – Aaron Rodgers has been relying on alternative methods for quite some time when it comes to protecting his body from illness or injury. At least since he admitted in November 2021 that he didn’t get vaccinated against Covid-19, the quarterback has talked openly about natural remedies.
In a podcast with Aubrey Marcus, founder of the nutritional supplement company Onnit, the 38-year-old now spoke about his experiences with ayahuasca, a plant decoction that contains the hallucinogenic drug DMT and can be consumed as a tea, for example. Ayahuasca typically causes psychedelic states without loss of control of the musculoskeletal system. Ayahuasca originated in Central and South America. In the USA, possession, sale and cultivation are permitted exclusively for religious purposes. In Germany, the possession of ayahuasca is illegal.
“For me, one of the cornerstones of mental health is self-love. That’s what ayahuasca has done for me, it has helped me to love myself unconditionally. Only with this unconditional self-love am I able to truly love others unconditionally. And what better way to work on my mental health than through an experience like this,” Rodgers explained.
The four-time NFL MVP also believes that his teammates could benefit as well: “The greatest gift I can give my teammates, in my opinion, is being able to model unconditional love for them. I mean, of course it’s important that I play well, show up and lead and all those things. They’re not going to care what you say until they know how much you care. “
