The situation for running backs in the NFL is currently very bad. Star player Derrick Henry speaks out about the problems.
It was one of the big issues of the NFL offseason: no team wanted to pay the running backs properly. Top players like Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs were in between holdouts. Titans running back Derrick Henry has now spoken out about the difficult situation.
“I want to show that we’re as valuable as any other position. They use us just as much for commercialisation and marketing. We just want our fair share,” the star player said.
In contract negotiations, Henry says teams often put it in a negative light for players if they have played a lot of snaps. “You can just do your best and hope the team appreciates it.”
Da problem: Often the difference with the backups is too small, high investments are accordingly less worthwhile. Add to that the high injury probability of the position group.
