Football coach John Harbaugh is to lead the Baltimore Ravens to another Super Bowl victory. The club from the US professional league NFL extended the contract with its head coach early by three years until the end of the 2028/29 season, the Ravens announced on Friday. The previous agreement would have expired after the coming season.

Harbaugh (62) has been in office since 2008 and, with a record of 185 wins and 115 losses, is the most successful coach in the history of the franchise. Only Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh Steelers/since 2007) has been at the helm of the NFL for longer.

Baltimore, which won its second title under Harbaugh in 2013 after 2001, lost in the play-off quarter-finals last season with star quarterback Lamar Jackson to the Buffalo Bills (25:27).
