Russell Wilson raves: Pittsburgh Steelers a “fountain of youth”

At the age of 35, quarterback Russell Wilson is making a new start in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After his first impressions, he can’t stop raving about his new team

“It feels like a fountain of youth,” Wilson said in a press conference. “I feel like I’m revitalized in every way, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. I’m confident in myself.”

While he also felt very good last season with the Denver Broncos, he said he now has “that confidence times ten.”

The Steelers have not yet committed to Wilson as the starting quarterback in the duel with Justin Fields. However, US media assume that Wilson is currently the clear favorite.

It would be an important step back to relevance for the veteran after his career stalled following his move from the Seattle Seahawks to Denver in 2022.

Despite an improved performance last season with 26 touchdowns and just eight interceptions, Wilson lost his starting job. The Broncos parted ways with him after the season despite heavy financial losses.
