Raiders: Chandler Jones likely arrested in Las Vegas

After disturbing appearances on social media, Chandler Jones was reportedly taken into custody by Las Vegas police on Thursday. The reason was said to be a violation of a protective order.

The portal “TMZ” reports that Chandler Jones was arrested in Las Vegas on Thursday. According to the report, the Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher allegedly violated a restraining order.

Police responded and took away the 33-year-old, who is said to have been cooperative and is currently still behind bars at the Clark County Detention Centre in Nevada.

The former Super Bowl winner has been missing from the Raiders since 5 September due to an alleged dispute over his access to the club’s premises.

Jones has since repeatedly attracted attention with disturbing appearances on social media that have raised concerns about his mental health in the NFL world.

Among other things, he claimed to have been forced to stay in a psychiatric ward and to take medication against his will.

Just hours before his arrest, the 33-year-old had made serious as well as unsubstantiated allegations against his head coach Josh McDaniels in connection with the death of Aaron Hernandez in an “Instagram Live” video, breaking down in tears.

Jones refuses medical help

The former New England Patriots tight end had been sentenced to life in prison for murder in 2015 and was found hanged in his cell two years later in what authorities ruled a suicide.

Despite his disturbing behaviour in public, Jones insists he does not need medical help. Moreover, he had repeatedly held out the prospect of a comeback for Las Vegas.
