Two times the Kansas City Chiefs have lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021 season. From Tyrann Mathieu, there’s thick praise for quarterback Joe Burrow.
Munich – It was not enough for the big throw for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. But it won’t be the only Super Bowl chance for the 25-year-old. Many experts believe the quarterback has the potential for a great future.
Tyrann Mathieu is one of them, and he should know. After all, he played the Bengals twice last season with the Kansas City Chiefs – and lost both times, both times after taking a lead, including in the Championship Game.
“Joe Cool” doesn’t come out of nowhere
Mathieu knows Burrow’s nickname “Joe Cool” is no accident.
“I knew his mental state, but to be on the field with him and see it live is another experience,” Mathieu said on “The Jordy Culotta Show. “
Burrow did not flinch, Mathieu pointed out. “You have to remember that both times we played them we were ahead. The first time, we were leading 21-7. The second game we led 21-3. That’s a title composure. “
Tyrann Mathieu: “Joe was hard to stop “
Mathieu is also impressed with Burrow’s buddy Ja’Marr Chase, the wide receiver was one of the guarantors of the Super Bowl entry alongside Burrow.
“It was hard to stop Joe,” Mathieu said. “The league is made for guys like Joe and Ja’Marr. If he can get the mental and intelligent aspects of the game together, he’ll be playing for a long time,” Mathieu said.
And unpacked some very high praise. “I see a lot of (Tom) Brady in him.” Then it should only be a matter of time before he actually makes it to the big time.
