The Pittsburgh Steelers are commemorating Dwayne Haskins in the form of a special sticker on the helmets. The quarterback had died in April 2022 as a result of a traffic accident.
Munich – The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the 2023 season in memory of Dwayne Haskins, who died in an accident in April.
Therefore, the Steelers players will wear a sticker with the number 3 of the quarterback on their helmets, as the club made public. Haskins had died in April as a result of a traffic accident.
Haskins under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of death
According to the coroner’s inquest, Haskins was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs at the time of his death. His blood alcohol level at the time of the collision with a truck on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale/Florida was two parts per thousand.
In addition, according to the investigations, there were traces of the party drug ketamine in the blood of the killed football star, who was in Florida at the time with several team colleagues for training.

The accident occurred early in the morning on April 9 when Haskins apparently tried to cross the roadway of Interstate 595 and was struck by a truck. “Dwayne was a great teammate, but even more so he was a wonderful friend. I am heartbroken. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his wife Kalabrya and the entire family,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said at the time on the death news.
The quarterback first played in the NFL for the Washington Redskins or, after the rebranding, the football team. The capital club drafted him in the first round in 2019. In 2021, he went to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
