Luck in disguise for T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to information from “NFL Network”, the Defensive Player of the Year will be out for a few weeks, but not for the rest of the season
Munich – A final diagnosis and an official statement are still pending, but this news should reassure all Steelers fans for the time being: T.J. Watt is unlikely to miss the rest of this season.
Watt injured his pectoral muscle towards the end of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals and had to leave the field early. As reported by “NFL Network”, an operation – contrary to initial assumptions – does not appear to be necessary. This would have meant the end of the season for the Defensive Player of the Year.
According to the report, the outside linebacker could now return in about six weeks.
Earlier, “ESPN” reported that the 27-year-old would seek a second and third medical opinion on Tuesday. Should the doctors still advise him to have surgery, Watt’s season would probably be over after all.

If he misses around six weeks, Watt will probably be placed on the Injured Reserve List for the time being. He would then miss at least four games but could return afterwards.
Further examinations later today should provide final clarity.
