The Pittsburgh Steelers may have found a new general manager. According to a media report, the choice is one of the franchise’s employees who has been with the Steelers for over 20 years.
Pittsburgh/Munich – The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to have found a new general manager.
As “ESPN” reports, Omar Khan is to become the successor of the previous GM Kevin Colbert. 16 candidates were interviewed by the Steelers and in the end apparently Khan, who has been with the franchise for over 20 years, got the nod.
Andy Weidl comes in as assistant
For the past six years, he has served as “Vice President of Football and Business Administration,” where his responsibilities included the Steelers’ salary cap.
In addition, Andy Weidl comes from the Philadelphia Eagles as assistant to the new GM.
The 65-year-old Colbert is retiring after 22 years with the Steelers. His last major official act was the past draft.
