The Pittsburgh Steelers name Mitch Trubisky one of their offensive captains – a clear nod regarding the quarterback situation just ahead of the NFL season opener.
Munich – A few days before the start of the new NFL season the Pittsburgh Steelers have announced their five team captains.
In addition to running back Najee Harris, defensive end Cam Heyward, safety Miles Killebrew and linebacker T.J. Watt, quarterback Mitch Trubisky was also named one of the captains.
Quarterback question probably settled
With Trubisky’s appointment, the Steelers should now have the starting quarterback question settled in favour of the 28-year-old. He is expected to get preference over rookie and first-round pick Kenny Pickett.
Trubisky signed a two-year deal with the Steelers as a free agent in March 2022, and the 2017 first-round pick previously played in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears.
