Thanks to star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs have hopes of making the playoffs as the AFC’s top seed.
Cologne – Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs back to winning ways on the final day of the regular season in the US Professional Football League (NFL). The 2019 Super Bowl champions won 28-24 at the Denver Broncos and have hopes of making the playoffs as the AFC’s top seed.
To do that, the Chiefs will have to hope for a Tennessee Titans loss at the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Franchise record for Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes threw two touchdown passes and completed a total of 27 of his 44 passes to his receivers for 269 yards of space. It was the ninth win for Mahomes in the ninth game of his career against the Broncos. The Chiefs are now unbeaten in 13 straight games against Denver – a franchise record.
The Chiefs suffered a setback in their battle for first place in the AFC last weekend in a 31-34 loss at the Cincinnati Bengals, so they will have to hope for some shooting help. The playoffs begin with the “Wild Card Weekend” next weekend.
