NFL: Tyreek Hill apparently wants to stay with the Miami Dolphins

Tyreek Hill will apparently stay with the Miami Dolphins after all. This was stated by his agent, who also revealed details about an injury to the receiver.

Is the fuss about Tyreek Hill over now?

As it stands, the superstar receiver wants to stay with the Miami Dolphins. His agent Drew Rosenhaus emphasized this on the “Pat McAfee Show”.

And he also explained a few background details, because according to Rosenhaus, Hill “broke his wrist in a training game against the Commanders at training camp. He didn’t want to miss the season and he wanted to play,” said the agent.

Surgery would have meant the end of the season on the one hand, but on the other hand, “the doctors all said that it was painful and that it could affect his entire career” if he did not have it operated on. “If he doesn’t do it now, it may not be fully recoverable,” Rosenhaus said at the time.

Hill had talked about a wrist injury during the season, but did not mention that it was a fracture. At the time, he announced that the surgery would be performed after the season.

Tyreek Hill: Injury has been hindering him all season

So Hill went through with it, “and that’s what held him back all year. He deserves a lot of credit. Tyreek is very passionate. He wants to win. Not making the playoffs is not good enough for him,” Rosenhaus continued.

Hill actually had a weak season, throwing for just 959 yards and six touchdowns. The last time he went under 1,000 yards was in 2019, but he only played 12 games for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hill had vented his frustration after the 20-32 loss to the New York Jets and the resulting elimination from the playoff race, hinting that he wanted to leave Miami. His contract still runs until 2026. “I have to do what’s best for me and my family. Whether that’s here or somewhere else, I’m opening that door for myself. I’m out, bro,” he said.

After the verbal clash, there was an “excellent meeting with Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel,” according to Rosenhaus. GM Grier and Coach McDaniel had already reported on the very open and direct exchange, without giving away many details. Grier explained that Hill did not ask for a trade.

“I think he feels committed to the Dolphins. And I believe that Tyreek is a great asset to the Dolphins. He’s the last person people should worry about in this organization. They have a lot to worry about. Tyreek Hill is not one of them,” said Rosenhaus.

When asked whether Hill still wanted to be a Dolphin, Rosenhaus was not 100 percent sure. “I need to have the conversation with Tyreek. I’m not going to speak for him. We’ll discuss it. It’s something we’ll really work out together. I’m not going to say he does it or doesn’t do it, that’s a discussion I need to have with him and haven’t had yet,” said Rosenhaus.
