When will Tua Tagovailoa return to the Miami Dolphins lineup after his concussion? Head coach Mike McDaniel dares to make a cautious prediction for the playmaker’s planned return.
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel has broken his silence and commented for the first time on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s planned return. “I expect him to play football again in 2024,” the 41-year-old predicted. However, he could not say when exactly. The focus is on health.
The earliest possible comeback date would be the game against the Arizona Cardinals on October 27. Until then, Tagovailoa will remain on the Injured Reserve List. He is therefore definitely not an option for the game in Indianapolis.
Miami Dolphins suffer from Tagovailoa absence
The quarterback suffered his third concussion in a short period of time in week two of the current season after colliding with Bills safety Damar Hamlin. There was even talk of a career-ending injury at the age of 26.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins are sorely missing Tagovailoa’s athletic skills. At twelve points per game, the franchise has one of the worst offenses in the league. Tyler Huntley is expected to return to the “Tua” backup role next season.
