The New York Jets have set their sights on the future and, among other things, traded two top stars. However, they ultimately decided not to agree to another deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The New York Jets wanted to know.
During the week, they traded star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for two first-round picks, followed shortly thereafter by former first-round pick Quinnen Williams. Among other things, they also received a first-round pick for him.
A deal with the Kansas City Chiefs involving defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi yielded another sixth-round pick, as did the trade for wide receiver John Metchie III with the Philadelphia Eagles.
NFL: Kansas City Chiefs apparently wanted this star
Now, however, it has emerged that the Jets did not trade everything they could get their hands on. Running back Breece Hall had to stay.
According to ESPN, the Jets rejected an offer from the Chiefs for Hall. The Chiefs reportedly offered a fourth-round pick in 2026, but New York wanted a third-round pick. The Chiefs did not improve their offer. According to reports, Hall would have been open to a trade following the departures of Gardner and Williams. He is in the final year of his rookie contract.
“I think I’ve said this a million times by now: Breece was not a player I wanted to trade,” said Jets head coach Aaron Glenn. “He’s just a damn good player.”
