For quarterback Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, the football season in the NFL has ended prematurely.
The 25-year-old needs surgery on the broken index finger of his right throwing hand, the team announced on Tuesday. Herbert suffered the injury on Sunday during the loss to the Denver Broncos (7:24).
With a record of 5:8 wins, the Chargers only have a theoretical chance of making the play-offs. On Sunday, Easton Stick had taken over at the quarterback position
