Lamar Jackson is predicted to have a great future. Coach John Harbaugh goes into raptures, but has to do without his star quarterback for the time being
Home trip instead of first session: Lamar Jackson had to leave his Baltimore Ravens’ training camp on Sunday. NFL insider Josina Anderson announced via “X” that the reason for this is apparently a “pretty bad” illness.
Head coach John Harbaugh noticed the first symptoms as early as midday on Saturday. Jackson had tried to rest and drink enough fluids, but it had not gotten any better.
According to “CBS Sports”, however, the start of the season is probably not in danger. It is even possible that Jackson will be available again after just a few days and will then be able to play with new running back Derrick Henry from the Tennessee Titans, for example.
Jackson should go to the top of NFL history
A prolonged absence of the quarterback would be a major loss for the franchise. Harbaugh makes no secret of the potential he sees in the 27-year-old current MVP. “Our vision is for Lamar Jackson to become the best quarterback of all time,” revealed the 61-year-old, who has been coaching him since 2018.
The plan for this is also already in place: “It will happen through Lamar, his work ethic and his brilliant talent, through all of us working together as a team, and through the grace of God and God’s good will. “
Youngest player with two MVP titles
Jackson’s teammates also seem to appreciate his qualities. Tight end Mark Andrews recently described him as the “most special player in the world”. He is excellent at just being himself and not letting outside noise get to him.
The stats speak for the Ravens hopeful: with 5,258, he has amassed more yards than any other quarterback in his first six seasons. In 77 starts, Jackson, who can call himself the youngest NFL player to win two MVP titles, has 125 touchdown passes. So far, the only thing missing to top those numbers is a deep playoff run.
