The quarterback and his Buffalo Bills won 27-24 (10-7) against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round.

It was Buffalo’s first away win in the playoffs since 1992.

The Bills led 13-7 midway through the third quarter after an Allen touchdown and two field goals by Matt Prater.

Jaguars kicker Cam Little narrowed the gap to 10-13 with a 43-yard field goal. Earlier, the 22-year-old, who set a new NFL record with a 68-yard field goal in the regular season, had missed from 54 yards out – ultimately the decisive three points that were missing.

The final quarter turned into
a wild exchange of blows unfolded. First, Jacksonville’s playmaker Trevor Lawrence found receiver Parker Washington in the end zone for a 17-13 lead. But the Bills struck back immediately: tight end Dawson Knox caught a pass from Allen in the end zone, putting Buffalo back in front by three points. The Jaguars’ response: Lawrence found running back Travis Etienne for a touchdown, making it 24-20.

Then it was the Bills’ turn again: after a ten-yard tush push, Allen – who had to leave the field briefly in the first quarter with a suspected concussion – scored his second rushing touchdown of the day and the ninth of his playoff career – 24-27.

There was no further change in the lead – Lawrence’s second interception sealed the Jaguars’ defeat. However, this was also down to Jakobi Meyers, who failed to hold on to a catchable pass.

NFL: Bills in divisional playoffs at the Broncos

In the divisional round, the Bills will now face the top-seeded Denver Broncos. This became clear after the New England Patriots’ victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Patriots will host the winner of the Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers game.
