The question of the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers next season is still unresolved. If you believe the offensive coordinator, then a rather unexpected candidate also has a good chance.
Munich – In the battle for the starting quarterback position with the Pittsburgh Steelers, most fans and experts are probably calling Mitchell Trubisky the favourite. Unless rookie Kenny Pickett can exceed expectations in training camp.
But if Matt Canada has his way, a third playmaker is a possibility. So the team’s offensive coordinator now spoke out in an interview with “93.7 The Fan” and said Mason Rudolph has every chance of getting the job
Rudolph as a starter for the Steelers?
“Mason is getting second reps right now, almost the same amount, maybe a little less than Mitch. He’s being given a very fair chance. Up to this point in camp, the number was maybe exactly the same.”
He continued, “Mason has made a lot of plays at times, he’s played very well for us at times. He’s got a great chance. That’s the way he’s going to be treated. His experience with our plays, with our system, is a plus for him,” Canada continued.
For Rudolph it is already his fourth season with the Steelers, while Trubisky and Pickett are new to the team. In addition, the signal caller has already been on the field ten times as a starter.
